Once upon a time there was a little boy called Jason. Every afternoon after school, Jason would go to his mum's coffee shop and bake cakes, scones and whatever his mum’s willingness to clean up would allow! When that little boy turned into a bigger boy, he left school to do an apprenticeship as a Pastry chef and Baker. This was 26 years ago! Jason and Robyn bought Coniston Bakery in 2012. The bakery had been an icon of Coniston for some 30 years, though was in desperate need of a revamp. Since opening day in June 2012, Coniston Bakery has built a wonderful team and has continued to grow and expand – seeing a second shop open in 2015 at Unanderra and a third shop open in 2018 on Crown Street. From first thing in the morning, delicious bakery smells of fresh coffee, breads and pastries waft onto the nearby streets luring customers, many who are knowm by name, to be greeted by Jason, Robyn and/or the friendly staff. Jason and Robyn, as Coniston Bakery, are passionate about supporting community projects and are major sponsors of local clubs, schools and charities. Coniston Bakery has changed a lot from its humble beginnings, though it remains to be your local family run, neighbourhood bakery. We hope to see you soon.
